About Us
Alice Baker Meuten, DVM, DACVSMR, MSTCVM
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
- Diplomate of the American College of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (DACVSMR)
- Masters Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (MSTCVM) including certifications in Acupuncture (CVA), Tui-na (CVTP), Food Therapy (CVFT), and Chinese Herbal Medicine (CVCH)
- Certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (cAVCA) and Veterinary Medical Manipulation (VMM)
- Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT)
- Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT)
Dr. Alice is a North Carolina native, but is proud to call Colorado her home. She grew up in the mountains of North Carolina on a small farm and always wanted to become a veterinarian. During her undergraduate career at Warren Wilson College near Asheville, NC, she studied sustainable agriculture and began to prepare herself for a life as a rural veterinarian. She focused on equine and ruminant studies during veterinary school at North Carolina State University and started her career at a large animal hospital in Apex, NC. As a veterinarian, she very quickly realized that she wasn't able to help many of her performance patients recover from injury with the training she had received, so being a health and fitness enthusiast herself and wanting to help her patients reach their highest possible level of health and performance, Dr. Alice began pursuing integrative medicine as well as sports medicine and rehabilitation techniques to discover new ways to further enrich the lives of her patients and the happiness of their humans.
Dr. Alice is on faculty for the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and the Chi University.
When Dr. Alice is not working hard to improve the health and performance of her patients, you will find her competing in herding events with her Border Collies, riding her horses, rock climbing with her husband, running, and practicing yoga. Dr. Alice and her husband live on a ranch southeast of Denver where she can still play farm vet on all of their critters.
